Tue, Apr 5 2011
ReNew Neurobehavioural Services was unveiled on 29 March by Mrs Jan de Kretser on behalf of our Patron in Chief, the Governor of Victoria, Professor David de Kretser, before a team of overseas and local experts in ABI rehabilitation and representatives from disability services organisations.
ReNew offers a range of specialist ABI rehabilitation services using the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust’s (BIRT) UK model.
This includes individual accommodation for 20 people, supported by a team of on-site ABI rehabilitation specialists, in a real-life community setting close to local amenities.
A joint venture between the EW Tipping Foundation and BIRT UK, ReNew aims to help people achieve greater independence and reduce the impact of ABI on individuals, families and the community.
“This type of service will also provide ideal proactive support within the proposed National Disability Insurance Scheme,” said EW Tipping Foundation CEO, Richard Dent.
