A dream extended

When he first told Tipping staff member Helen Beaver that he wanted to learn dancing, she had trouble finding anywhere suitable.

Fortunately, an advertisement for the “Ministry of Swing” caught her eye, and Brett began his lessons, with Helen coming along to assist.

Brett learnt the dance steps with ease, and in May this year he was invited to dance in the studio’s cabaret, with his mum and enthusiastic staff watching.

“The expression of pride and enjoyment on his mum’s face was priceless,” said Helen.

But now the dream has extended. Brett has formed close friendships with the other dancers and no longer needs Helen as a teacher.

“I like rock and roll lessons – I like the teachers and meeting new people,” said Brett. “It’s fun dancing, and I like the music.”
