Pursuing the dream

Next year will be one of the biggest in Leeanne’s life.

Not only is she going to move out into independent living; but she is also getting married to her fiancé, Max.

Living independently has long been Leanne’s dream. The EW Tipping team at the shared supported home where she lives in Horsham have encouraged her to work towards achieving it.

“They’ve been teaching me to cook, to tidy up, and helping me to organize a place to live,” said Leeanne.

Max is also part of the dream. He is currently living in Edenhope and they are looking forward to moving in together.

“I’m really looking forward to living with Max. We will have the freedom to do anything we want to do,” said Leeanne. “It’s a happy time in my life right now.”

Getting married and living independently are a reflection of changing expectations that people with disabilities have the right to the same goals in life as everyone!
