A great time on the Gold Coast

Joel has always dreamed of going to Queensland, especially to the Gold Coast.

With some assistance from the EW Tipping Foundation, Joel has fulfilled his dream and changed expectations of what he can achieve and the types of holidays he can enjoy.

Accompanied by staff members Laurelle Edwards and Kim O’Donohue, Joel spent a week on the Gold Coast enjoying every second.

“We went to the theme parks Movie World and Dream World, and I had my photo taken with all the actors,” he said.

One of the highlights of the trip was visiting a zoo and seeing animals like kangaroos, snakes and fresh water crocodiles. “It was the first time I held a koala,” said Joel.

“I had a really great time and wish I was still there – though I couldn’t live there as it’s too hot.

“I managed to do one of my dreams with the help of Kim and Laurelle.”
